Family -It's What its's all about!
During the summer we had the whole immediate family in town at the same time!
Made for some great times and needless to say a ton of photos - whaich are
either on
www.jaegerville.com or www.jaegerjournal.net. Steven's
jaegerville site also contains some fun video of Jacob walking.
Aby entered fourth grade in September and has turned into a very caring young
lady who also is a great help with her sister who recently fell and broke her
leg. The leg is healing and the cast will be off soon and Delila will be good as
new and as inquisitive as ever.
The two red heads at the Jaegerville Zoo , as it is affectionately named are
both growing and now that Jacob is able to walk, we are certain they are both
into everything! Eli is continuing to go to school at the Temple near the kids'
home but its still a little early for Jacob.
David and Steven have recently done some business travel and in spite of the
economy business is growing and they are continuing to develop some of their
proprietary programs.
Caryn and Dick are planning a trip out to California but probably not till
the end of December or early January, when Caryn will be gaining an extra
vacation week.
Dick's involvement with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network
continues to grow and he has been to Washington for Congressional meetings in
Jun and will be going again in September. Additionally he has been to Lansing to
visit with State legislatures to promote the Smoke Free Workplace and Healthy
Michigan initiatives and will be returning to capitol again as the House and
Senate versions are reconciled.
In addition to his ACS work Dick attended the International Jewish
Genealogical Societies' Conference in Chicago in August along with Marc Manson
and over 800 others from around the world. The conference lasted from Sunday
through Thursday with seminars, a film festival special interest group meetings
and a wide array of other meetings scheduled from 7:00 in the morning to 10:00
at night. Many of the people Dick had known only through e-mail attended and he
had an opportunity to put a face with a name and get to know them on a more
personal basis. The 2009 Conference is scheduled to be held in Phildelphia next
August and Dick is already planning on attending and going on to Lakewood and
New York afterward.
Caryn has been likewise busy her office went on flex time but she liked
getting off early each day and beating the rush hour rather than getting Fridays
off so maintains the same time schedule except now on Fridays its a rather short
staff nd a lot more work falls to her. She is also involved in an American
Cancer Society long term study that will be coming to the 2009 Relay For Life in
West Bloomfield. Its a ten year study open to people under 60 who have not had
or been diagnosed with cancer and will include initial blood samples and an
annual survey form for ten years. Caryn and a committee from the West Bloomfield
Relay will be working on the program before and up to the Relay event where the
test samples will be taken and initial survey forms completed. This is not the
first long term survey ACS has undertaken and previous ones were instrumental in
such findings as the second hand smoke conclusion.
The extended family continues to grow and we have at least
three more new cousins added to the family group since our last update. Famly member now
stretch from the US to England, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Israel,
Germany, France, Greece, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Latvia, the Ukraine, and probably
a few we are not even aware of. The speical family web site
contains a lot of documents and reports (as well as photos) from the family
history and is constantly being upgraded. Information on how to connect to the site is sent directly to family members.
